At last!!! I have finished it This pic took freaking so long

Anyway, this is my entry into the Temeraire Valentine Club Contest 2010 where I happen to be a proud Co-Founder along with the wonderful Now that this is finished, expect the official voting for the winners to be announced any day now

BTW, a procrastinator's joke: Happy Belated Valentine's, everyone!

Reminder: since I am one of the Admins of #TemeraireFans my entry is excluded from the final voting for fairness's sake.

For those who wonder, Temeraire is one of the main protagonists from Naomi Novik's extremely addicting books. Imagine the beginning of 19th century, Napoleon wars, then add just the right amount of fantasy and dragons into it. Equation result: pure awesomeness . I recommend the series to those interested in fantasy.

And so to the lovey dovies here I decided to do Temeraire/Mei for the contest (naturally I ship the pairing lol) Mei appears in book 2, where Temeraire and Laurence travel to China to settle the diplomatic dispute on Britain having the only Celestial dragon (our Temeraire) outside Chinese borders and used in war at that and with an unworthy, commom man companion (only in the Chinese eyes anyway lol We love you Laurence ) when Temeraire was meant for Napoleon himself originally. Celestials are the rarest of dragons (there are only 8 so far) and in the books considered as the best in the world. They are bred from Imperial dragons (our pretty Mei is an Imperial) which are second best compared to Celestials. This is why in China they are companions only to the Emperors and the Royal Family, and even seeing one is considered as great luck. This is basically the overt source of the dispute, I am not even going into the deeper intrigue surrounding it When in China, Mei becomes an attendant to Temeraire and teaches him Chinese. Obviously, he falls for her, she fall for him. Love story. Laurence jealous.

These two are so cute together Temmi/Mei is my favourate couple from the Temeraire novels and I sincerely hope in the end or sometime in future books, Temmi will be reunited with Mei eventually and they will have lots of eggs together …much to Iskierka's unhappiness lol

I am pretty pleased with the pic, aside from the fact that it took long to finish. I hope, I remembered all of the markings and didn't forget anything. As you can see, I support Dominic Harman's design of Temmi [link] Thank God, I know now how to copy-paste scales in a neat way…I can't imagine every single one of them painted…well maybe some 10-15 % lol I know Mei is supposed to wear a silver necklace with pearls, but let's imagine she changed it for once lol And their wings didn't fit too lol Nearly forgot about the spots and whiskers altogether XD I have a second version of this in mind, but it will have to wait.

This is the last painting I am posting and probably you will not see any pics from me, save for photos, until after my exams in june are over. Assignments are already piling up...This is my last semester at the University and I have to prepare myself. After that, my studies for the Bachelour of Management & Marketing will be officially over How the heck did these 4 years manage to fly by so fast?
