They are having such an AWESOME contest! And the whole group-vs-group challenge is a great idea!

Solar Empire vs. New Lunar Republic! ;D I am against war on principle, but this is an awesome, harmless idea and I wanted to take part. I love Celestia, too, but this once I am entering on behalf of Princess Luna.

So...deciding to participate, I chose the New Lunar Republic

I entered just for FUN!

Am NOT sure it is statistically possible to take a place among so many competitors

, but I am glad to participate in the contest just for pleasure...and assist everyone's favourate Princess of the Night!

Anyway, ow that I finally have time to update my description, here are the facts.

THE RATIONALE FOR DESIGN:

When I tried to image an armour for New Lunar Republic, I thought of Princess Luna and how she differs radically from her sister in both tastes, attire and choice of items around her, i.e. her dark bat carriage, her night guards with catlike eyes and their choice of armour. And so my idea of a design was born. The armour would need to appear quite intimidating ,aggressive-looking and in colours of metal matching/resembling the guards attire and her carriage.

I decided also to include spikes, because they are featured on her carriage, and probably Luna would find such shapes both attractive and war-worthy.

Furthermore, just to clear up any possible confusion regarding her emblem with wings on her breast: it is the colour of the moon NOT a reference to the sun. Just in case, anyone wondered.

Among other things, I looked up some pictures of knights and their horses's armour on Google just to get the feel of what goes where. Believe it or not, this is my first finished digital attempt at pony armour!!!

And I must confess, I so love how it looks.

Oh, and I created this character just for the contest!
